Most popular additions of roof windows to homes.

Side-by-side installation

One of the more common ones is side-by-side installation, where two or more roof windows are put together to form a larger area of natural light to brighten up a room even more than you would get from just one roof window. These types of installation require different flashing kits as to normal roof window installations to allow for them to be installed so closely together.

VELUX 3in1 roof windows

VELUX also manufacture what they call 3in1 and 2in1 roof windows, how the 3in1 works is you have two opening units and one in the middle is fixed, just like a traditional casement window but on your roof. These are a simple but genius part of the VELUX product range allowing for far more natural light to enter your room without the complicated installation.

Sloping Vertical Windows

The VELUX sloping-vertical roof window system consists of one vertical window and your standard top-hung VELUX pitched roof window on the top. This allows a bigger flow of natural light to come into your home so you can achieve floor-to-ceiling windows in your loft conversion.

CABRIO Systems

VELUX offers what they call a CABRIO system of which essentially is a balcony in the form of a roof window. The bottom window opens out with expanding railings to allow you to walk out slightly more, and the top section window opens top-hung to allow you to walk right out, in effect giving you a balcony without the cost of getting a balcony built onto your home.
